this workbook was smaller than I was expecting but the coloring sheets and activities are high quality and go perfectly with the book's illustrations. We are planning on using it during spring break. It would even be great for a Sunday​ school setting. It has a good mix of coloring and activities so would interest kids from a wider age range.

Nice book that accurately explains the thread that connects all of the Bible from creation to the cross and beyond.

My 4 yr old granddaughter loves this book! And It even got me digging deeper into scripture, resulting in me learning something new too!

I did not intend to buy the coloring book. This will be too difficult for the grandchildren it was purchased for.

I really liked this activity book! It basically works through the book of the same name, they've slightly altered some of the illustrations to make them either activities or coloring pages. Some of the activities are good for little kids and a about half are probably better suited for kids about 6 and up who are reading/better at drawing. This book is merely a collection expressions loosely categorized as chiasmus. There is little to no scholarly discussion of origines nor is any historical context provided. I am extremely disappointed. Embarrassed to have sent a copy to a friend before I previewed it.

Even the author advises to read in small sections, I am did just that, a great book for the "library" reading.The author is a great perfectionist in his way of writing, he makes it all have meaning.Thoroughly enjoyable!

I enjoy all books in this Mardy Grothe series! This one is such fun, too! I've given it away as a gift and also have my own copy.

4. Jenny Saville – 2018 – essays by M. Stevens, R. Calvocoresssi, Sally MannThis is a hefty tome running to 392 pages and it is contained in a slipcase. The production quality is very high, which is fitting because I paid some 90 dollars for it in 2019. This one should last.The two essays by Stevens and Calvocoressi are fine, although the reader does not get the impression that Stevens spared the time to visit the artist in her studio to get her views first hand or observe her in her natural habitat. Calvocoressi does mention a visit – so kudos to him.The conversation with Sally Mann (the photographer) was much more illuminating. I believe that only another artist can really understand the making of art and the best interviews with artists are conducted by other artists (generally speaking). These pages include some interesting photos of Saville’s studio and include some of her reference photos. After reading this section I felt that I had a good understanding of Saville’s studio practice and where she is directing her attention.The essays and the interview take up the first 40 pages or so of the book. The rest is devoted to the plates and supporting material. There is a lot of luscious art to look at and after turning the 350 pages or so of this I felt that I had a good idea of where Saville is artistically right now.I did notice something buried on page 381 that could have formed part of at least one of the essays and that was Saville’s collision with the Catholic Church in 2008. She made a painting based on a photo of her new born to replace a Caravaggio stolen in 1969 for a church in Palermo but the Vatican deemed the studies “not religious enough.” Surely for an independent female painter, one of the best in the world, this is huge. She came up against the male establishment with a feisty, muscular painting and lost.This book is not the only book about this tremendous artist, but it is a good one for those who want to see where Saville is – mid career. I would recommend it, but don’t drop it on your foot. It’s heavy.

Not cheap but worth the money. Boks on her and her work are few, and this one has lots of images, with a mix of close ups and full painting shots. Process shots and an interview are great too. The book is kinda huge which is awesome.

The longest of the series to date and there were a few points where it almost felt like the author had put three books together to make this single, larger volume. However, it was amazing!!One of the prime complaints for previous books is dangling quests or plots and not enough focus on moving forward. I highly doubt anyone is going to have that complaint for this book. Pretty sure there's even a joke about a quest having been completed for some time and only just now being turned in. If you can't poke fun at yourself, right?A complaint from others about this book is the appearance of unneeded filler to make the book seem larger. I like having all the data handy but I'll admit I glossed some of the info panels. The book had some spots where it seemed to revisit ALL the previous data. The complete loadout, all the spells and skills, and basically everything that could be displayed. Yeah, I skipped some, but I would rather have it than not.Those points aside, I loved it! I've been waiting to get back into The Land for some time now and I was not disappointed (except when I hit the last pages of the book because I knew it would end soon). I enjoyed the rehash of everywhere we'd been, I liked where the story went, and I LOVED how the book ended. Excited for book 8!Lots of ups, some downs, a bunch of twists, and, as always, no shortage of laughs!

I have enjoyed each book in this series, including this one. “Predators” however, was my least favorite. The first 20% of the book was just too slow, too many drawn-out philosophical conversations, too many stat sheets, and not enough action. Stick with it though. The majority of the book is great, just like the previous six. I am greatly looking forward to more by Kong.

This book is a true work of art

Again and again we are handed awesome tales of The Land. Yes, we, the readers, had to wait a year ( felt like two years ), but Aleron delivered again.Hoping we will not have to wait as long for the next book, BUT, it is a big "but", I loved the length of this book as much as I loved the story.Too many authors think a couple of hundred pages is fine, nobody will care. This is so wrong. Long books with a good story rule. Almost as much as "gnomes rule".So, two major thank yous to Aleron. First, thank you for an inviting story. Second, thank you for a long book. May the rest of the books be long and at least as well written.

Everyone that has played Dungeons and Dragons has had that one guy. They optimize their character using every possible handbook available. Then they want to go into the details and tell you how and why they did what the did, breaking down the character build piece by piece. With great enthusiasm they drone on for hours.That is this book. Kong drones on for hours about the numbers and world he has created. Then he literally will use his character as a mouth piece to say " Damn that's awesome" and pat himself on the back. Books 1-6 were entertaining, but book 7 practically did nothing but present stat sheets. The actual story presented is maybe 20% of the actual book. The remaining 80% is the author telling you how cool his world is and the stat sheets to support his claim.The narrator for the audiobook is excellent.

I love this series but this book had a monologue from a villain that was too much. The character went into extended and descriptive detail about absolutely horrific things he/she/it had done. the details did not add to the story and were unnecessary. reading this 10-20 page section actually made me nauseated. i recommend skipping this entire section unless you want to risk the same reaction.

I have read all books until this nr 7. I liked book 1 to 6 very much! This book I had to put down after reading approximately 30%. The time is going very slow, every thing that happens shall be explain in details. Why the author har totally changed the tempo in his writing is beyond me? I am will nor recommend this book.e

I love the classical hymns best. These hymns have been around for centuries and will never go out of style. Most of the hymns in this book are sung in Methodists, Lutheran, Baptists and other churches. So if you enjoy the classical hymns, and aren't Baptist, don't let the title turn you away from purchasing one of these books.There are over 400 hymns in this collection. Some popular titles included are Onward Christian Soldier, Old Rugged Cross, How Great Thou Art!, Just As I Am, and many more. There are a lot of popular Christmas songs in here as well.This is a great hymn book to have at home for family devotions.The price is a little expensive on Amazon per copy ($17.99 when I made the purchase). A Christian wholesale distributor may be the best way to go if you are ordering larger quantities for your church.This collection of true Christian hymns beats K-Love music any day.

It was PERFECT for what I was looking for. I am writing a book about a Chaplain in the Union Army in the Civil War. I needed a book that contained the old songs that dated back hundreds of years that soldiers would have been familiar with if they had attended services in Protestant churches growing up either in rural communities or in the cities. I will be using this book to pick out songs for both Sunday Services as well as weekly Wednesday Night Sing - A - Longs while they are in a permanent Winter Camp that usually lasted a couple of months...in my book they are actually forming a choir and I can make reference to songs that the Chaplain's Assistant is working with the Choir on Tuesday Nights for both the Sing A-Longs as well as the Church Services. I am writing this book journal style and am having an enjoyable time writing it. This is my first attempt at something like this, in the past I have had local newspaper and magazine columns and wrote a children's play for a local play. In addition to these things I have also written a monthly column as a Chaplain of my American Legion Post for 3 years. If their is anyone who actually reads this and has a group that I can get into a discussion group about writing I would sure appreciate the guidance. Steve Bogart...cannon@comcast.net

This just arrived today and I'm delighted with it. If you're looking for a hymnal that contains all of the "old" hymns ... this is the one for you. Most of the 545 songs were like old friends. The hymnal arrived in 2 days (love that prime shipping), was still wrapped in its plastic covering and was in pristine, brand-new condition.

Had seen this hymnal at one of the nursing homes where I live here in Mississippi, and I had to have one. Found it immediately on Amazon and purchased it. It is filled with old hymns and spirituals. I ordered another for one of the residents of said nursing home because he loves to sing. We are both enjoying the hymnal immensely!

This hymnal contains all the verses, chants, songs, and musical script used by the baptist church and should be regarded as an excellent reference for anyone desiring a thorough collection of the most soul-stirring hymns to ever echo from within America's churches.

This had some kind of gunk on it which was kind of gross and some of the pages were stuck together. Since I bought it for an art project it wasn't a huge deal but I was definitely disappointed that it wasn't mentioned because I probably wouldn't have purchased it.

This hymnal has everything you would expect and more including 39 Spirituals. The traditional hymns will be around when we are long gone while a lot of the pop praise songs that we loved in the past and now will not be around for our grandchildren.

This is the exact hymnal you had back in the day at your childhood Baptist church! It has every song I loved to hear in church in it.

We bought this and a stuffed fox together. My daughter was thrilled with the gift. The book is small and thin, but pretty.
