This is a fraud, do not buy this. So many typos, copies of old exams from different exam types. Rip off, waste of money, do not buy this! Beware!

the book is not terrible. But there are enough mistakes with this study guide that i could not recommend it.The cause of the greatest confusion for me was that sometimes the questions on the CD were not completely in sync with what was in the book, or worse... there might be 3 questions about a passage on the CD, or in the book, but the answers to FOUR questions in the text. Since this would happen for two or three passages in a row, you could not know for sure whether your answers to multiple choice questions could be matched to the letters in the answer key. (more answers than there were questions).i'd ask for my money back, if i didn't think it would be too much of a hassle

its based on the old test - AP German changed in 2011 - this book is not usable for the new version. It should be advertised as such

This book consists of copies with a ring binding. The copies are partly very bad, I don't understand why this would happen.

While this book does have its (weak)points, it should not have the title it does. As a teacher of German who has experience in the AP German test, I eagerly awaited the arrival of this book. It didn't take more than a few pages to see that this would not be useful to me or any of my German students who might want to prepare for the German exam.The introductory pages did not mention the AP German test and its contents at all. Instead it explains to the students how to write an English essay and a variety of other basic test-taking tips and strategies one could find in any test-preparation resource. It seems that a book on this topic would have at least sketched the set-up of the current test format of the AP German test. An organization was not evident, and the book lacks a table of contents.The "listening" sections were basically scripts with the questions interspersed. There were some trivia-type questions not found on the AP test. This would be very disconcerting to students who looked at this book.Regretably, what IS found on the AP test: sample essay questions, the story-board pictures, for example, were nowhere to be seen. Included is mention of and the actual script of a sample "9 minute" lecture, during which the students are encouraged to "take notes while listening". This lecture format has long since been deleted from the test format. The copyright date in the book is 2000, which is sad, as the materials should be better up-dated.A list of supposedly valuable vocabulary found in the appendix, was merely a photocopied version of some old text book, which I am sure could be found on my own bookshelf, or that of any German bibliophile. To my dismay several pages of these copies were illegible. The vocabulary would have been more valuable if it had been in some logical order or categories.To say the least, this book was an absolute disappointment. Evidently we German teachers and our students are still left empty-handed, compared with those of our colleagues in other languages. This book is shameful and embarrassing and should be avoided at all costs. [Your money] is better spent on dictionaries or on old textbooks at a yard sale. Don't waste your time on this. It should be taken off the market and I will be sharing this opinion with every colleague I can in the country.

Rather than being a comphrehensive review book, this book is a compilation of practice tests (which, accompanied by explanation, might not be so terrible) that serves little help in preparation for the exam. Not to mention, this book is clasically "shady"--the CD that comes with it is HOMEMADE, the font isn't uniform, and the binding is questionable.This book neither helps you preper nor helps ease your worries. It is terrible, and I wouldn't suggest supporting the family who probably makes it.

This book was supposed to help my daughter to prepare for her AP test. German is my native language, and when I tried to use this book to practice with her, I found myself at a loss several times. Many questions make no sense and it is loaded with typos.I recommend: read as many German books and articles as you can. Rent German movies. Find someone who speaks German with you. This book will confuse you more than it will help you.

In the mid 1970s, as an army sergeant, I was given the unusual job (for me that is) of ‘Bn Photographer’ during a 2½ year tour of duty in N. Ireland. As both sides of the conflict went about their tasks, the jobs given to me ranged from exciting to boring and occasionally frightening. Far too often, however, they were simply distressing. The one lesson I well remember from the explosion at the Ballykinler army barracks in 1974 was that soldiers don’t like having their wounded comrades photographed! By comparison, however, my own experiences were ‘very’ minor when compared to the subject of this book.Ivan Bawtree worked as a photographer for the ‘Graves Registration Unit’ from 1915-1919. Operating on ‘yesterday’s front line,’ his job was to record the final resting place of the many Allied soldiers killed. It was not a job where his work might be included in any headlines but it really is remarkable how his many pictures came to be used and the legacy they now provide for history.This is a lavishly illustrated book with at least one image on the majority of the pages. Bearing in mind the photographer’s job these do include photographs of grave sites, individual grave markers and some of human remains. But don’t get the idea this is a work based on the morbid - certainly not. The remainder show Bawtree going about his work in all parts of Flanders and France, the problems associated with darkroom facilities and the ingenious way in which he washed his films. There are also some fascinating pictures of the war-torn landscape.There are several images which seem to stand out from the rest but the one found on p.131 is particularly poignant. This shows a simple card which was sent to the next-of-kin of a fallen soldier who had been buried near Arras. On the one side was a photograph of his grave and, on the other, the information included details of the nearest Railway Station…Fittingly, the last photograph in the book is one of Ivan in happy retirement. It appears just below an image of the MBE he was awarded in 1977 for his unstinting work with the Boys Brigade.One often reads accounts from whatever major conflict which differ, even contradict, others from equally qualified writers. In this account from WW1, however, we have a very different story altogether. It is a story about a man who looked after the private side of death and did what was required to ensure the graves of the fallen were properly recorded for the benefit of their families. Hugely disappointing. A friend bought us this book prior to us spending 6 months in Hong Kong. We've now tried around a dozen restaurants in this guide and without fail have been disappointed with each of them. Sometimes, just aghast with sheer disbelief that some of the restaurants have found their way into the guide. Admittedly, our budget has restricted us to the mid to lower end of the price range, however there is a huge choice of places to eat in Hong Kong. I'm not sure what the criteria is to get listed in this guide, but I would think it doesn't have much of a future given the much more reliable and up to date online information that you can obtain from review websites. I've now been in Hong Kong for several months now and the number of new and exciting restaurants that have opened up in Kennedy Town alone just shows how quickly the scene changes. This kind of guide with an annual update just can't hope to keep up with the pace of change, and as such is a poor way to select a restaurant.

I was a bit disappointed in this book. Almost all of the illustrations in the book are drawings that make it difficult to tell what the plants really look like, only the most general compositional effects (e.g., colorful blobs next to long green fronds). The photographs they've included are much more interesting than the drawings, but the plants aren't labeled. Also, they frequently reused the same plants in the different examples. Although this is ok to a degree, I was expecting to encounter a wider variety of plants and some more creative combinations.

A little dated but still lots of good information and ideas.

This book is excellent for getting the creative juices flowing! Each landscape indicates what plants are needed and also has variations depending on whether you are planting in a shady location or sunny location. It also includes what to expect from your landscape as the plants mature.This book answers many of the questions you have when planting, especially when starting with a blank canvas. Very - very informative!

I recently moved to Northern California and have been looking for a landscaping book that provides geographically suited plants, shrubs and perennials. This book provides ideas, alternatives for shady and sunny spots, planting graphs for annual growth and great arbor ideas. Well worth the price, packed full of ideas for the beginner and expert gardener. You won't be disappointed.

Very well resourced and beautifully illustrated, equally useful for those starting from scratch or planning a refurbishment. It covers ideas and problems you didn't realise you had or needed, and covers them well, with plenty of horticultural lore and advice. Not just for California, but here in Australia, and also Africa and Mediterranean countries. Just what we need in an increasingly thirsty world!

When I recieved this book I realized I already owned it. The book I owned was a few years older with a different cover and a slightly different name. There are some nice designs, but they should have more drought tolerant and native plant designs

I bought two books to learn about SoCal plants to help me pic a landscape design for the front of my house. The other book was not nearly as helpful. The diagrams in this book really help you to understand how plants should be paired. Even though the space I had to work with did not resemble any in the book, I did look for sunny spaces similar to mine and plants that were nice looking and easy to care for. I highly recommend the book !

For those of us lucky enough to garden in southern California, this is the perfect landscape design book if you have a blank slate.

I love most NatGeo books. I bought this one for our homeschool. We also have a Student World Atlas from NatGeo but it is definitely geared towards high schoolers. I really wanted something that would work for my elementary student as well. I was super excited to find this beginner's atlas. It is much better for the younger set. It has nice colorful pages, thick and glossy. Highly recommend.Note: Like many people, I rely heavily on Amazon reviews before making almost any purchase, online or in brick-and-mortar stores. Bought this for use in our homeschool with my first and third grader. My kids love it, and will spend long periods reading and looking at the pictures and maps. This was an excellent purchase to supplement our geography curriculum.

I bought this book along with the Interactive Globe. The two go so well together, and the children really enjoy using them together. I highly recommend this companion. It makes a great before bedtime activity. A wonderful gift as it is educational as well as entertaining!

Wonderful book! We are going to be doing a study on continents and countries shortly as a homeschooling family and this will be perfect to go along with that. I gave four stars because i would have preferred less maps and more country info but this is just personal preference. the book itself is quality!!

I used this atlas to teach two rising fifth graders about geography. It was just enough information on countries to introduce geography to children who knew nothing of a world beyond their inner city neighborhood. It was a good teaching aid.

THIS is an awesome book!! The pictures are great the information is awesome. It's hard not to look at this book. It will intrigue any students attention. It did my 6th graders.

Great book, but it's very America-centric (evident even in page-distribution).

Excellent beginning atlas for children. My five year old daughter loves looking at maps. She got this for Christmas, and has practically worn it out already. It has easily readable facts for each continent, and nice colorful pages.

The characters are well developed and realistic.Audrey Cunningham was not particularly thrilled with her father’s decision to move back to his childhood home on Bridal Veil Island. However, she gives up her job with the Morley’s and goes to Bridal Fair with her father. A friend of her grandmother’s, Aunt Thora, lives with them. Aunt Thora believes the South should have won the war and all Yankees are out to get them. When Boyd finds out his Mother had failed to pay the taxes on Bridal Fair for many years, he has no idea how to make the payments without selling Bridal Fair. His hard drinking earlier in his life had left him quite ill. Fortunately for them, Victor Morley, comes back into their lives with an answer. A group of investors are building a resort on Bridal Veil Island. They own all of the land except for what the Cunningham’s own. He suggests they rent rooms for his building supervisors and rent out the old slave buildings for his workers. The group will renovate the buildings and pay for the men to stay there. It makes more work for Audrey and Aunt Thora, but it means they keep their home.Marshall Graham comes to see Boyd. It was the death of Marshall’s father that led to Boyd’s decision to stop drinking. Audrey has problems with one of the Graham boys, known for their drinking, to stay on the Island as she is afraid Boyd will start drinking again. However, Marshall, unlike his brothers, refuses to drink. He gets the job of supervisor for the Bridal Veil Island resort and will be staying with the Cunningham’s. Until he finally approaches her, he has no idea why she seems to dislike him. After they clear the air, they become friends. She also befriends the doctor who came to the island with his two daughters.Strange things begin to happen on the worksite. Why would these things be happening? Audrey gets involved in finding out the answers and finds herself in danger. Can Marshall protect her?

This book was a very slow read. I actually stopped reading this many times when other books came in. I actually read another Tracie series and then picked this back up. It was boring, and the woman in this was a whiney, overly opinionated, seriously emotional issued woman. I wanted to smack her around and tell the guy to run far away.

I Chose this rating because there was so much happenings that took place in this wonderful story Audrey and her father left PIttsburgh to land on island that Audrey didn't care for. She loved her father dearly just a year before she lost her mother. Her father at one time consumed so much alcohol that he. became an alcoholic. As Audrey grows up many events start to happen. The islands starts to change with her father's approval. Fire, people getting hurt, and more when the island starts to grow into something beautiful. More action packed mysterious things begin to take place and you will never suspect who was the culprit? A very good read. No foul language.

This is a good story about the struggles many of us might face. The story is well told, but I did have a couple of things that bothered me. First, I thought that it was confusing throughout the novel that the name of the island was Bridal Veil and the name of their house was Bridal Fair. At first, I thought the author had made a mistake, but then I realized that I was just confused. Another thing that bothered me was that you want to scream at the characters to "just talk to each other". While I know this happens in real life, it's still frustrating. It's still a good read, and I enjoyed it.

Book one of the Bridal Veil Island series was Very good! It took twists and turns unexpectedly and was very suspenseful throughout the story, but especially the last half! I assume all the stories take place on Bridal Veil Island, so I'm excited to get started reading book #2. Can't hardly wait to see who stars in this story. I admired the hero and heroine so much, and when the hero is like Marshall, he reminds me of my very own husband. So tender and gentle, yet knows what he wants and goes for it! I highly recommend this book and this series! Thank you, Tracie Peterson, for another great book!

Although I have read books by both Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller and thoroughly enjoyed them, this book did not really catch and hold my attention. The storyline was good and I liked the characters, it just seemed "disjointed" somehow. I did complete the book, but I would not read it again.

It was a slow read. It had a nice storyline, but the main character was a little annoying at times. Her aunt was over-the-top and it got old quickly. The romance aspect was a little predictable, but the suspense and plot twists at the end were nicely done and that part was not so predictable. Overall, it was still a nice book.

I chose this rating because I really did not want to stop reading and I did not want it to end! If you like a love story this is it, if you like a mystery you get that here also. The only thing I didn't like was some first names could be last names and for a few minutes I got confused. I really think a book that has a few leading characters should not use first names that are often last names. Nevertheless this is a good read.
