I am a lifelong fan of the Alice books, and I just couldn't wait for the movie to find out more about the plot. I have not seen the movie, so I don't know how well the book sticks to the plot, but I suspect it is full of spoilers. If you want the movie to surprise you, you should probably save it for after you've seen the film.The way the book made (bound, printed etc) is similar to other recent children's books such as Lemony Snicket, Spiderwick, etc. It is also written in a very simple style, easy enough I would say for kids 8 and over to read, understand and enjoy. Most adults will get through it in one sitting. There were a couple of adult issues in the book that I didn't feel would be appropriate to have to explain to a really young reader, but I would advise you to read it yourself first, then decide if it's something you should talk to your child about, or something that s/he understands and can handle. Overall it's very mild, not the least bit graphic, and I would probably just let a kid read and run with it.If you are expecting an incarnation of Lewis Carroll himself you will not get it. This is a movie companion book meant to tell the story of the film, not to replace the original tales or to try to copy Carroll's style. It is overall a good, easily read story that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys fantasy, loves the film, or the original Alice stories.
Beautifull collection from Disney to read before he goes to sleep. We read it to him but he can see the pictures and images from the crib. The book is 11-inch tall.
This book is a wonderful addition to anyone's library of film books.In addition to containing a great many illustrations and designs from the creation of the movie by Tim Burton it also describes in some detail the technical aspects of the motion capture and animation processes used to create the final movie. Informatin is provided by a number of the creators and actors.Whilst the first half the the text in the book reads more as promotional material the 2nd half of the book's text is far more factual and technical.

I love this book!! I absolutely adored the movie and wanted a true visual companion to study the images further. I loved the interviews with the actors...Tim Burton's introduction...commentary by LInda Woolverton who wrote the screenplay.Loved reading about the creative direction and challenges of the movie...looking at the inspiring illustrations that preceded the final product...it's a heck of a great book and worth every penny. I find that I don't agree at all with the person who thought there wasn't enough information about the making of the movie. The entire movie was shot in the green room....and there is an entire section of the book devoted to that.This is an absolute treasure...right down to the full copy of the oraculum that is printed on the reverse side of the dust jacket...fabulous!!
If you're looking for a movie to book translation, this is it, there's very little difference between the two. So if you haven't seen the movie yet, don't read the book if you don't want to be spoiled. If you're suffering from with drawl from the movie, then get this book.It's a rather fast read, I finished it in a few hours, but still loved every bit of it.
As an artist and Tim Burton fan, I purchased this book with pure excitement. I have many other art companion books relating to Tim Burton movies, and I must say, this is one of my favorites. I love the behind-the-scenes look that the audience gets into the making of this amazing film. I also love seeing Burton's artwork that inspired his creations for this visually stunning film. I highly recommend this book to any Burton fan, artist, or film buff!
These Disney Classic books are great. The stories are great and the pictures are very colorful. The Cover of the books are great to , it's like a big cut out. My grandson loves them, I'd tell everyone to buy them, they have a good price too!
