This is book 7 in a series about a family named McCutcheon. For someone who hasn't read the previous books (and I am one of them), it will be a bit difficult to follow all of the many characters. The couple at the center of this book are Roady and Sally. I found it hard to become really interested in them when there was so much being related about so many other people. For me, the book was a little slow moving and I started skimming to be able to finish. I won't be reading any more of this series, but I don't want to discourage any one else from doing so. I would suggest that they read the series in order. Each book is a stand alone, but I am sure that it would be more interesting to get to know the characters in order so that you don't have to constantly stop to figure out how they rank in the family/community and just who their spouse is.There are no language or sexual situations to offend any readers.

I really love Caroline Fyffe's Montana series. I have looked forward to Roady's story, and I wasn't disappointed. It starts so simply with Roady going hunting with a snow storm on the horizon. Enter Sally Sanford, a young lady on the way to her sister's house in Y-Knot, when their stagecoach has an accident and the driver is seriously injured. With the snowstorm getting closer some one has to go for help and it seems Sally is the only logical choice. The next thing you know Sally has taken the wrong turn and the snowstorm breaks, but she finds a cabin to shelter in. Roady has also been caught by the storm and he heads for his hunting cabin....you guessed it, the same one Sally has found. The story is good, some of it is guessable, but the end is the same. A good, clean story that keeps your interest.

While not a blood McCutcheon, Roady is viewed as a valued member of the family. One of his endearing qualities is to help those that need it. So coming to Sally's aid is just natural for him. The relationship between them takes a little time to grow, with neither of them feeling they deserve the other. But with the love they both have, they get through it and come to understand what their life can be with each other. I have read all of the other McCutcheon books, and this is my favorite. Caroline interweaves all the characters we know and love throughout the story, which helps us understand how cherished Roady is. Luke and Brandon's understanding of Hickory and the senior McCutcheon's acceptance of it just make this a family you want to know better. The interaction among the ranch hands lets you know what a special group of people are part of this ranch family. It was great to catch up with all the characters. Thanks Caroline for such a lovey story. It was the perfect book to spend a lazy weekend reading. I'm looking forward to the next chapter of the McCutcheons.

Too many similar scenarios from other books I have read. Needs editing and FYI the blue flowers In the fields in Texas are blue bonnets not blue bells.

This is the story of Roady and Sally. We've waiting thru several books for his story and I wasn't disappointed. You can't help but love Roady. My heart went out to Sally after what she had gone thru before traveling to Y Knot. To find shelter Sally found a hunter cabin to get out of the snow. Roady knew of this cabin and was doing the same. Sally was asleep and Roady arrives and after finding her asleep still in soaking wet clothes immediately does everything that needed done to keep her from becoming ill. Not going to give away all the story. This story is full of caring, respect, love and romance. You won't want to out this book down. (Just ask my husband) LOL. This is a must read, but if you haven't read the 1st 6 books you should definitely start with those to fully appreciate Roady's story. Caroline Fyffe we love your books. God Bless You. 😄

Loved this story of Sally and Roady. Ms Fyffe spun me right into the story of Sally and the characters that I couldn't stop reading. The story is full of drama, adventure, heartache...and true love between a unlikely couple, yet so right. But Sally's secret was keeping things from being right, that I was silently screaming; Tell Roady the truth of why it's hard for him to touch her! I just wanted things to be the way it should have been and ached for both Roady and Sally. It's a story to be enjoyed and celebrate, as during that time, it could have went so different, and it was good to see Sally find good people surrounding her sister and take her in as if she belonged in the family. Well written and totally enjoyable.

“Montana Snowfall” by Caroline Fyffe was a very good read. In her novel, Ms. Fyffe portrays a young St. Louis girl from a big family who is desperate to leave. She concocts a story about visiting her sister and husband in Y Knot, Montana, even though she has not let them know that she is coming. Her reason for going away is to spare her family the shame she feels for the predicament she is in. Personally, I think her refusal to let her family help her is misguided. However, it does make for a good storyline.Sally travels to Montana by train and stage and at one point during the journey, the stage overturns and she rides for help on one of the mules. She is caught in a blinding snowstorm and just manages to find a hunter’s cabin where she takes shelter. Also caught in the storm is Roadie Guthrie, a ranch hand for the McCutcheon family who is more like a son to the patriarch and his wife. All of their children and families live in or near the main ranch house and are protected by each other. Roadie finds the hunter’s cabin and he and Sally are forced to remain together for three days waiting out the storm. Roadie and Sally form a friendship, and Sally’s predicament causes Roadie to come to her rescue again.I thought this story was well-thought out and I loved the characters. Roadie was a kind and gentle person and Sally, although misguided, was a lovely girl caught up in circumstances beyond her control. I think you’ll like this book.
